Exploration Nation is a STEM educational program that includes supplemental lesson plans and materials for elementary students and teachers. Exploration Nation is a multi-platform, high engagement program that builds on, and sustains, this natural love of science by showing science as one huge, kid friendly adventure!
World Class Partners
Working with partners including NASA, US Fish and Wildlife, Hanson Robotics, US Geological Survey, Geocorps, major universities and corporations, the show’s effervescent, 11-year-old host, Enzo Monfre, travels the country experiencing science first hand and sends the message that kids are not the scientists of tomorrow – they are the scientists of today.
Wild Adventures in Science
Exploration Nation takes students on wild adventures whether going deep underground exploring caverns, learning how to fly airplanes, uncovering the secrets of dinosaurs, or revealing the science behind high powered lasers – this innovative program shows the scientific world in new and exciting ways through the eyes of kids.
Standards Aligned – Digital Curriculum
Exploration Nation has been created for the digital age and is designed to align with state and national education standards including TEKS and NSES. The program utilizes the 5E methodology.
History
Exploration Nation is the culmination of 45 months of development based on an original idea put forth by a then seven year old boy named Enzo Monfre. Originally a series of on-line videos, the project has evolved into a multi platform teaching system encompassing formal and informal curriculum, social media and publishing.
The project has already become a national phenomenon reaching millions of kids, teachers, parents and members of the scientific community including NASA, the University of Texas, U.S. Fish and Wildlife, U.S. Geological Survey, Duke Energy, Texas Parks and Wildlife, and many other science and conservation organizations.
Currently the company’s first curriculum “Life Sciences – Volume One (grades 3-5) ” is in use by over 300 students in Texas schools and has been adopted by Heart House, a free after-school program dedicated to providing a safe haven and academic support to low-income children in Austin, TX. The program’s videos have 1.5 million views on-line and air in 12,500 households per day on television stations across the country. Consisting of four, fifty minute lesson plans with accompanying video, the program has received robust praise and reviews from educators.
