FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

What is Enzoology?
Enzoology is an educational, science show created and hosted by seven year old Enzo. The show's mission is to turn kids on to science with an engaging, entertaining presentation. We actively support teachers and home school families by providing video content and study materials that align with the subject matter in the show. Enzo loves to share his enthusiasm and knowledge with other kids and Enzoology gives him a platform to do so - with the hope that kids will realize that science is cool and make the world a better place.

How does Enzo know all this stuff?

Enzo has been enthusiastic (some say obsessed) with science since the age of 3. Most of his knowledge comes from watching television (he'd rather watch National Geographic or Discovery Channel than Power Rangers), he also has an extensive library of reference books and his parents have been reading to him since an early age. We also use the Internet to fill in any gaps in knowledge and to check facts. Recently the University of Texas has started working with the show to provide even more science and research.

Does Enzo read cue cards?
No, Enzo doesn't read cue cards. Enzo is very thoughtful about what he says - wanting to be sure it's right. He is also new to being in front of a camera and these factors can lead to a halting delivery. He's working hard on his hosting duties as well as enunciation. Plus, he's only seven!

Does Enzo do the web site?
Enzo doesn't have time to work on such mundane tasks. He leaves that up to his mom and dad although he does contribute to the information and look of the site by offering up his ideas and shooting down mom and dad's ideas.

Who does the video?
This is a family effort - mom handles bug and reptile wrangling as well as lighting and still photography. Dad shoots and edits the video. Dad also composed and performed the theme music with some special pals from New Orleans. We also benefit greatly from the cool people at GEAR Austin who loan us all of our production equipment.

Where do the specimens come from?
Most of the subjects are caught in Enzo's backyard. Other, more exotic, species are loaned to us by the University of Texas, Herpeton Exotic Pets, The Austin Zoo or the Tiger Creek Wildlife Refuge. We also have friends who happen to own large snakes and other folks who simply love Enzoology and offer to have us feature their critters.

Who created Enzoology?
The show was completely Enzo's idea. He thought of the name and what the show would be about. He also decides the subject matter covered and does most of the research for each episode. He is also part of the development team that is creating a cartoon version of Enzoology.

How did Enzo get on the Ellen DeGeneres Show?
Ellen's producers called us after seeing the show.

We want to interview Enzo for our publication, television show, etc. Who do we contact?

Our friend Cynthia Baker handles media inquiries. She can be reached at cynthia@accoladespr.com
.

Is Enzo home schooled?
Enzo has been home schooled until recently. However, he is now attending a public school as a second grader.

What's the deal with the sponsors?
Enzoology is sponsored by several companies who have generously offered to help us produce the show. Sponsorships are not solicited by Enzoology but we appreciate the help we've received from companies like GEAR (video equipment), Accolades PR (publicity), Moujaes (marketing and cartoon development), John Abbott with the University of Texas (research and laboratory facilities), InnerSpace Caverns and ImageWearhouse (snakes!). We couldn't do it without their help!
